This competition marked World Squash day and saw 45 players under 19 years of age competing in 5 age categories and 1 Novice category. This was the largest entry of junior players this year. The standard of competition was high and most seeded players retained their places. In addition to the group and consolation winners, recognition and prizes were presented to two players who were exemplary in the competition- Christian Edghill and Barbados-based Gylla Mackenzie.

Results: Under 19: 1st Mandela Patrick won 11/8 11/9 11/3 from 2nd placed Leonel Sorillo; 3rd was Charlotte Knaggs who won 11/9 11/1 11/9 from Alex Mackay; consolation plate winner was Gylla Mackenzie.

Under 17: 1st Nku Patrick won 11/4 11/5 11/7 from 2nd placed Talia Abdool; 3rd was Christian Edghill who won 9/11 11/9 11/7 11/4 from Gylla Mackenzie; consolation plate winner was Angelique Jackson.

Under 15: 1st Nku Patrick won 11/4 11/5 11/9 from Chad Salandy; 3rd was James Lancer who won 14/12 13/11 11/8 from Jonathan Blanc; Luke Asui was consolation plate winner.

Under 13: 1st Carl Miller won 11/8 9/11 12/10 11/6 from Jonathan Blanc; 3rd was Marie Claire Barcant who won 11/8 11/8 14/12 from Dmitri Agostini. consolation plate winner was Sebastian Krogh.

Under 11 winner was Kobe Khan who beat Jordan Mungal and was the last man standing after his 2 opponents from south withdrew from the competition.

Novices: 1st Amy de Verteuil, 2nd Quintero Rodney; 3rd Shakim Joseph; 4th Tyrel Coombs. At the prize giving function Trinidad and Tobago Squash Association

Vice President Catherine de Gannes-Martin thanked the coaches in particular for their continued work on developing these young athletes and bringing them into the competitions. She singled out the young players who took on responsibility for marking and refereeing matches and the parents who assisted in the smooth running of the 3-day competition.
